and it's all about the playoffs
so after the Miracle Of The New Meadowlands against the New York Giants, i knew the Philadelphia Eagles would recover from it against the Minnesota Vikings. so goin in against the Dallas Cowboys for the last game, it was a given they would rest the starters and Kevin Kolb would play against the Boys with our 2nd and 3rd string against the Boys' 1st string. the nerves of the 5-10 (then) Cowboys tauntin after winnin by one point...with their starters against our backups...fuckin losers. but at the end of the day, they go home and prepare their stadium to host the Super Bowl teams, and we host the Green Bay Packers for the 1st round of the NFL Playoffs!

things don't always work out how you wanted
...well, sports-wise @ the moment...after that embarrassin loss to the Chicago Bears last Sunday where we were out-played and out-coached, the Philadelphia Eagles bounced back in a, i wouldn't call it a 4th quarter comeback, rally to beat the Houston Texans. the Texans did have the lead to start the 2nd half but TE Brent Celek made a spectacular play to extend the ball for a 1st down durin a 3rd and 19 play. the officials, doin the best job as always, marked him down before the line so good ol' Andy Reid tossed his red flag...with the encouragement and support of the entire stadium of course (yes, i was there encouragin!! :D)
so call reversed and QB Michael Vick threw a short TD pass to the left for FB Owen Schmitt to seal the win. the game ended around 11:30 for us and i didn't get home 'til almost 12:30 am...eek! but well worth it for the win, specially a Thursday game (boo!) that did lead to this Sunday bein a little stressed free and enjoyin some NFC football
i, and many Eagles fans, was hopin for a few things to happen yesterday:
-Dallas Cowboys to lose to the home team, Indianapolis Colts...but yet QB Peyton Manning struggled in overtime and they kicked a 40+ yarder and won it 38-35...boo!!
-New York Giants to lose to the Washington Redskins (highly unlikely, i know) so we can have sole posession of the NFC east but again, the Skins got blown out, 7-31
-Chicago Bears to lose to the Detroit Lions, again, another unlikely outcome and unlikely it was...even though the Lions came closer than the Skins
-Green Bay Packers to also lose to the San Francisco 49ers but...GB have Aaron Rodgers and SF has
-New Orleans Saints to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals but that's also unlikely, not highly, but unlikely since Terrell Owens is a fag and the Bengals are goin nowhere :)
-last is the reignin NFC leader, the Atlanta Falcons to lose to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, which was close, but no cigars...arrr!
so there you have it...i can't expect everythin to go smoothly in life...shit happens. it sucks, but i'm dealin with it. i'm hopin it'll all work out soon but i know my position. so does the Birds, and that's half a game on top of the NFC east...leaders are N-Bears, S-Falcons, E-Eagles, W-Rams (yes, the St. Louis Rams)
g'luck next week against Dallas! VENGEANCE!

Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito
7 times boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is facin probably his biggest sized opponent yet in Antonio Margarito. @ the weigh ins yesterday, Manny was about 6lbs less than the 150 Margarito. add that to the already height and reach disadvantages as well and it doesn't appear good. however, Manny and his legendary coach, Freddie Roach, seemed really confident and Roach even went as far as predictin an 8th or 6th round KO, i forgot...should be interestin though. Magarito came off an embarassin paused in his career after bein suspended for a year after he lost to Shane Mosley for usin a plaster substance on his gloves, which his trainer took the blame for. with that, i think it'd REALLY fueled him to win this even more...i have faith in Pacquiao but it wouldn't be wrong if i didn't have some doubt, especially against a fighter with somethin to prove
fight is tonight in the ever-lovin losin Dallas Cowboys stadium...oh boy!

ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS! LIKE, OMG!
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, aka owner of Jerry World, aka Leatherface, fired head coach Wade Phillips after a horrific 45-7 lost to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday primetime game!
i'm not surprised by the decision, but i am surprised by the timin of it...like really? in Week 9? but hey, i just hope the Boys ain't motivated or rejuvenated enough to beat us :D - still, i hate the Cowboys but never had a problem with Phillips...eh, what do i know...i don't like Brad Childress though... >:D
remember where you heard it 1st!!! cuz it's not here >_<

it's clearly not the 1960's anymore
as i tried to forget what could've happened - i can't shake the fact that it did happened. goin as far as to say my worst nightmares came true is kinda a stretched when it's really my anxieties and doubts about this young Philadelphia Eagles team that reared it's ugly head durin the 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. it's that feelin as i watch our "savior" QB Kevin Kolb gettin flushed out the pocket and runnin for his life all 1st half of the quarter and until finally...it hits him. and when i say it, i mean the LB Clay Matthews. it's an eerie similarity feelin that reminds me of how Donovan McNabb used to scrambled for his life to get away from the Dallas Cowboys' DE DeMarcus Ware or NT Jay Ratliff. but when they get hit...they get hit. but the difference is: McNabb tough it out; Kolb doesn't.

wait a minute...what happen?
so i was takin a shit and browsin online, my 2 favorite activities in unison, when i came across my favorite Philadelphia Eagles site and saw that..*inhale*...our beloved Birds traded their 55th pick in the 2nd round to the dreaded, hated Dallas Cowboys for their 59th and a 5th round pick, then they traded that 59th 2nd rounder to the Cleveland Browns for their 71st pick in the 3rd round and 2 picks in the 5th round, and they then again traded with that 59th 2nd rounder to the Green Bay Packers for their 86th and another 4th round pick.
GOT ALL THAT?! i sure didn't!
UPDATE: the Eagles picked up ANOTHER Defensive End: Daniel Te'o-Nesheim
why?! again, what's the point of gettin Tapp? yes, Graham was one of the top DE choice and good insurance for Tapp but another one? what's that sayin about Victor Abiamiri or Juqua Parker? and here i am thinkin we need to fill in the Paul Bunyan's shoes of Sheldon Brown and Brian Dawkins..lol silly me
ps...i know this is late, it was updated as i was takin a shit so >:-p
