first order of business

i haven't been doing this for over a year so i'm not really sure about if the layout has always been this simple, easy for mobile/tablet user. either way, kudos, Blogger!

now in all seriousness, i need to address the crucial recent events that has happened.

last year i was pretty hard on the Chicago Bulls, especially Jimmy Butler. rightfully so. i mean, i am just a random guy writing this up while pushing one out, if you catch my drift...or smell it. ANYWAY! this year the Bulls made it out of the 1st round but lost in the semis to the dreaded, unknown town, dull, ring chasing, dirty scum collecting Cleveland Cavaliers. but really it was the Bulls vs LeBron James, as always. suuure you have a flat-footed center, an All-Star point guard in Kyrie Irving, and a group of low life merrymen positioning themselves outside the arc hoping Baby James draws 2-4 defenders then kick the ball outside. everybody then is all like, "oh my god, Bron Bron is so great. better than Michael Jordan. he's so selfless. look at his assist numbers. it's like the 2nd coming of John Stockton in a 6'8" black man with less hair!"

yea, ok
i mean, the Bulls were up 2-1. squandered the opportunity to make it 3-1 when James hit the fadeaway jumper at the buzzer. gotta live with it though. still, it never should've gotten to that point. but let's not forget how we got to where we were thanks to the great job of putting together a great team that lacks immunity and plays like 5 Mr. Glass.

this season they've signed former 2x Champion Los Angeles Lakers PF from Spain, Pau Gasol

he contributed immensely, despite being 52yrs old. he was critical in the Bulls's run during the Playoffs. so critical in fact that i felt he was the reason we lost because he sat out for 2 games with a left hamstring strained. he also led the league in double-doubles with over 50. although horrific in transition defense, he still was able to blocked alot of shots

another overseas picked up was rookie Nikola Mirotic, Euro-league MVP
the 25yrs old rookie showed signs of great shooting beyond the arc, ability to slash to the basket and ball handling like a guard for a PF. although he needs more strength to play against bigger PF in the league, his progress is something to look forward to

the addition of yearly rotated backup PG was filled this year by former Houston Rockets Aaron Brooks

just like the PGs before him, Brooks provided much needed sparks off the bench. although he did fade away in the Playoffs, unlike Nate Robinson, Brooks was still a major contributer. this is one area Bulls management seems to do well in

another filled in role was from E'Twuan Moore
Thibs like him for his defense and he helped us win a huge game over the Oklahoma City Thunder with a sweet inbound pass from him to Gasol then back to Moore for the winning 3. it was a thing of beauty, especially with Mr. Triple-Doubles Russell Westbrook going crazy in Kevin Durant's absent. but he also dwindled away during the Playoffs, which is where guys were needed most...

back to rookies. Creighton hot shooting sensation Doug McDermott was cooled down this season
he too showed signs of being able to attack the basket, not just perimeter shooting. he eventually lost alot of starting time due to some foot/leg/knee injury though. he did return during the Playoffs but didn't help much.

speaking of rookies who didn't help much. PF/C Cameron Bairstow hardly played
he seems, ok? never really followed college basketball so not sure how good of a player he can be. so moving on!

besides those, Taj Gibson is the same as always
although he prolly regressed this year due to Gasol filling in for Carlos Boozer and sharing minutes with Mirotic. he needs to learn to be quicker off his feet and less dribblin man. you're so fuckin predictable with the one dribble inside spin dunk attempt. he let bum ass Toronto native Tristan Thompson out played him...sad. he was just a bench warmer

rounding up the other guys that were in rotation is Kirk Hinrich
he missed a handful of games as well due to injuries. came back, wasn't effective. still like him though for the toughness and fight he shows

then there's always the reliable sharpshooter Mike Dunleavy, Jr
he was on fire some point. ice cold at some point. he always come to play though, especially during the Bucks series where he was target ed by a bunch of thugs thinkin they're tough. still Mike kept his cool and was big for us winning that series...just not much in the second round

a surprise during the season was the quiet guard Tony Snell
he improved his shooting but needs to be more consistent. he came up big a bunch of time. i like his not-scared-to-shoot approach. just make it! since he played in with Kawhi Leonard in college, everyone including myself hopes he turns remotely close to him in defense and offense. one can wish...

of course there's the high energy big man who can't shoot Joakim Noah
man i love him but i think he definitely put us in some bad position with his constant turnovers and missed shots at the basket. also, WORK ON THOSE FUCKIN FREE THROWS, MAN! shit...how many of 1, 2, 3 point games we lost when we could've won? how come other Centers can give their team 10-10 minimum? Noah be giving 0-12. like thanks. that's how we shall win games. collecting loose balls. *sigh*

lets turn back to the bright side. one my of 3 favorite current players became an All-Star this season and is gonna get paid big this off season. i am very proud/impressed with Butler's game this season, especially the offense
he still fills that Luol Deng's role of the top minutes logged in and tough, tenacious defense. he improved his jump shots and 3 point shooting over the summer as well as his tremendous post up game. you need a guy like that. someone that can guard the fastest PG like Westbrook to LeBron to Durant. he's what ths Bulls have been sorely missing and i'm hoping that management won't fuck it up and let him leave. like Omer Asik, they said they'll match any offer...until Houston's offer was too much. then they changed their tune like, eh...he was ok. granted Butler is worth more than Asik. so let's hope he can play in a Bulls uniform for a long time next to my favorite player

Derrick Rose.
the former MVP. the Red Knight. Chicago's native son. Rose for the most part stayed relatively healthy. had a minor surgery on his meniscus but came back in time for the Playoffs. he was great, and that's not me being biased. especially in Game 3, or was it 4? where he took the broken inbound play with less than 7 seconds, i believe, at the top of the arc and hit a fadeaway 3 pointer over the 7ft wingspan of Thompson to win the game
man it was a thing of beauty. he was also great in the series against the Milwaukee Bucks. although he let the winning lay up happened to let them win that 1 game, it should've ended in 4. nevertheless, the Bulls put together a game to close out the series

with all that being said. it was disappointing to lose, especially to the shitty ass Cavs. yuck. at least with that under our belt they can use it to build for next year with the core they have now. oh wait, they don't have the same core cuz fuckin shitty ass Gar Forman and John Paxson fired Tom Thibodeau, prolly the 2nd winningest coach in franchise history. but hey, what do i know. i do know they hired some college coach from Iowa State, Fred Hoiberg
not sure i know anything about him. we'll see if he can take the Bulls to 5 Playoffs appearances in a row. i know it's not fair to compare and it really has nothing go do with him. it's the management. they obviously think Thibs wasn't the right man for the job so let's see what this guy can do. i mean, they must think he's David Blatt. oh wait, we don't have LeBron. or does he think we picked up Steve Kerr? oh wait, we don't have the Splash Brothers. the closest thing is the Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens. and look where they ended up. look, as long as we make progress, like The Finals next year then i'll be happy. that's all. until then, i shall rant until next winter!
