scary Sunday

...not just because it was Halloween, but for the Philadelphia Eagles as they scope out their competition durin the bye week (yes, another Eagles related post even without a game :D)

so to recap some things that happened yesterday:
-just what we needed, the surprisin Detroit Lions beat the Washington Redskins. their star QB Matthew Stafford came back and was great; while Mike Shanahan decided to pull/bench Donovan McNabb within 2 minutes left and went with backup/former Chicago Bears startin QB Rex Grossman. so of course, Grossman performed how a backup that's been around the league too long performed: horrible. it's a surprisin turn of events in DC...their defense has been carryin them since the season started but wonder which direction their offense will go from here...scarrryyy
-another needed loss was from the Dallas Cowboys who got trampled by the Jacksonville Jaguars. it wasn't even a close game as QB David Garrard picked apart their defense and backup QB Jon Kitna couldn't get anythin rollin as he subs for a sidelined Tony Romo with a collarbone fracture. it wasn't like the Boys were still in the run but it's just nice to see them gettin what they deserve after bein so boisterous and showin off how great their team is and how big/wealthy their stadium is and they gon be hostin the Super Bowl starrin them...pfft!!
-the New York Giants assumin had a bye-week as well so can't root for them to lose but another NY team did lose, matter of fact, they didn't even scored! the New York Jets lost to the Green Bay Packers 9-0 as it came down to the defense who played for 60 minutes it seems. now maybe the league can stop claimin the Jets as "the best in the league"
-now, i don't wish injury on anyone but after tauntin and laughin @ us last week, Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt left the game with a hamstring injury...and so did QB Vince Young for reinjurin his ankle/foot...they ended losin to the San Diego Chargers anyway
-what's really scary is how good the Oakland Raiders have become...scorin 59 points last week against the Denver Broncos and yesterday scorin 33 points against the Seattle Seahawks, who beat the Chargers! but what's most impressive is they held the Seahawks to just 3 points! wow!
-Kansas City Chiefs really startin to be a legit team but then again, like the Raiders, maybe they just have shitty opponents as the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills yesterday
-the Arizona Cardinals showed that they could really use QB Kurt Warner again seein how Matt Leinhart isn't cuttin it. and what's worse is that he's makin Pro Bowl WR Larry Fitzgerald lookin pathetic! granted they lost to a close game yesterday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but he sealed the deal by throwin an interception a little over 2 minutes left...*sigh* oh well, no competition from them this year
-i was really hopin the Pittsburgh Steelers would take care of the confusin New Orleans Saints but they fell short to them as well. i went to sleep with the score 9-3 Saints and woke up with them losin 10-20..."C'MON MAN!"
-i was really lookin forward to see how the Minnesota Vikings was gon handle the QB situation with Brett Farve hurt and all...but somehow he managed to play and did so poorly :( he did ended up bein carted away; not due to the ankle but to a chin injury where he was required to have 8 stitches...so of course, Tavarius Jackson came in and didn't do much either as the Vikes lost to the New England Patriots

tonight is the rematch between Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts against the Houston Texans. last time these 2 met was the beginnin of the season where Houston left with the win...strangely enough, they've been up and down but managed to still be in the midst of things...the wife and i will be watchin closely for we have to play them next week (we'll be there!! w00t!) and see how Peyton do without Dallas Clark or Joseph Addai or Austin Collie. still, it's Peyton...and if he was faster, he would throw it to himself and juke through the secondary...

happy Halloween!
