Birdfeed PSG4 vs Jets

-Birdfeed: just a Philadelphia Eagles game feedbacks, inputs, and random junks

-PreSeason Game4: vs New York Jets

-Flight Time:

with the starters not getting a lick of playing time, only the backups and backups of backups are playing. that means even QB Mark Sanchez got a rest and Matt Barkley was to start. Chip Kelly split it up so both QBs will have an opportunity to work with the same group of guys (ie: o-line, receivers, backs). with not much to say about the offense besides negativity. Barkley threw an INT on his 2nd pass. he was 0-3. it was technically his job to lose but he barely made an impression. he did made a nice completion to TE Trey Burton for a 1st down on 4th and 8 while a free blitzer delivered a good hit. still, the drive only produced a FG
onto the defense next series. it's the first time this preseason that we got a chance to see the 3rd of this three headed ILB monsters, Kiko Alonso. besides 1 time hitting the wrong hole on a run play and being lost in coverage, he was very active around the ball and is a sure tackler. Chip Kelly made sure to take him out very quick
i think LB Mychal Kendricks will be a 3 down linebacker. DeMeco Ryans will play most pass but Alonso will take over on run plays. i am excited to see the potentials of these 3. on the other side of the defense, plays or lack of plays that stood out was again, S Ed Reynolds was too weak to stop RB. Alonso had to clean it up. 2nd year CB Jaylen Watkins allowed a TD. there was no pressure on the QB. the horrible coverage on special team was obvious. and WTF was rookie CB Eric Rowe doing? leaving the WR wide open...AND getting flagged. oh, he fell...not just this once, but multiple times this game. like he's too antsy or something tripping over himself. he's doing horrible. making Matt Flynn looking like Aaron Rodgers.
no one is setting the edge. everyone is all piled in the center, allowing the backs to sneak out or a pull lineman to trap them. smh...horrible. horrible. horrible allowing a TD.

now back to the offense. it was QB Tim Tebow time. Chip decided to play each QB quarter by quarter. Tebow put a nice touch on a throw to RB Raheem Mostert. he also got a good block from WR Jeff Maehl. another good throw from Tebow but WR Seyi Ajirotutu can't hang on. he seems to be dropping alot. drive ended up a punt to 3yd. good punt by P Kip Smith
yes, i know this is a FG attempt. there's not many action pictures of a rookie P

so finally something good happened on the defense. Jaylen Watkins has a beautiful INT where he read the QB the entire time and jumped the route. if he had better balance he could've score. so this time they better fuckin score
.
.
.
fuckin FG. fuckin bums

LB Bryan Braman had a sack. he's also been playing very well as another OLB and a special team stud. Rowe again allowing a big play. good 3rd down stop by rookie LB Jordan Hicks. that led to a beautifully thrown TD from Tebow to my favorite preseason WR Rasheed Bailey. however, Smith missed the PAT
overall - those were the thrilling (/sarcasm) events of the game. Eagles finally lose a game. not really a factor really. just now we know what to improve in for the backups. defense was horrible. the offense was lackluster. only thing this game show was Tebow outplaying Barkley. it's gonna be an interesting decision for Chip. but fuck it already! bring on the Atlanta Falcons!!
