Birdfeed G1 vs Browns

-Birdfeed: just a Philadelphia Eagles game feedbacks, inputs, and random junks
-Game1: vs Cleveland Browns
-Flight Time:
more like a hurry up flight escapin the Dawg Pound as the Eagles left with a marginal win over the Browns. not makin the game any better is the poor playin from Michael Vick and the offensive line; hand in hand is a bad combination. to simplify this...Vick made poor decisions, throwin into double and triple coverage, includin 1 that was returned for a TD. he got hit multiple times, but that was majority fault of the weak offensive line, WHICH was supposed to be more of a solid unit especially after last year. they had constant pressure on Vick and many hits that i felt were roughin the passer...but i'm not goin to get to that now. it's quite simple: due to poor protection from the o-line, Vick gets hurried and hurt - causin him to be more erratic and focused more on his safety than his receivers. and if he isn't aware of the rush, then he gets hurt. you lose-lose either way
for some reason, we netted 456 yards: 150 on the ground and 306 in the air...yet only 17 points to show for it. Vick turned it over 4 times...LeSean McCoy coughed it up once...but had 110 yards for 20 carry. there were plenty of plays where he broke one but fuckin scab officials made some real iffy calls, calls they made against us but didn't make for the Browns on the EXACT same play. DeSean Jackson was quiet but had 4 catch for 77 yards, but he did his job by stretchin the field and spacin for players like Jeremy Maclin, who led with 7 receptions for 96 yards. he was hurt twice and it seems like he wasn't comin back but he stuck with it and caught a TD pass from Vick for an Eagles lead 10-3. other players like Brent Celek and Jason Avant did a great job by keepin the drive alive with some key catches but the main key catch was prolly from Clay Harbor for the TD for the lead as Vick led them down 91-yards and with a bit over a minute left in the 4th
now - the REAL hero of the game was definitely the defense, mighty, mighty defense! 1st off - what an impressive start for DeMeco Ryans who looks absolutely dominant. he had 5 tackles includin a great tackle for loss that forced a 4th down, another tackle on crossin route to force another 4th down and was in the backfield to make big plays for the defense. unfortunately we didn't get many sacks but Jason Babin and Fletcher Cox did have 1 each. Nate Allen was all over the ball, Brandon Boykin showed why it was a good decision to keep him as the startin nickel and Nnamdi Asomugha had 1 play where a slant went for a first down but after that was solid the entire game. the front 4 did a great job pressurin rookie QB Brandon Weeden, holdin him to just 118 yards and 4 interceptions. that brings the spotlight on the secondary studs of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who picked off Weeden twice and almost a 3rd in the end zone, and Kurt Coleman, who took a lickin from rookie RB Trent Richardson who knocked him over and helmet off but bounced back huge with 2 interceptions, includin 1 to seal the game in the final minute. the front 4 also did a phenomenal job stoppin the run by stuffin Richardson at all times and allowin only 39 yards from him and 99 total for the Browns

-Top Birds:
-RB LeSean McCoy: very effective in the game by pickin up blocks and good pass protection. could easily have a 1,600 yards season if he can keep it up. would've had more if it wasn't for the fuckin scab refs
-WR Jeremy Maclin: he toughened up and got back in the game and caught a crucial TD to lift the spirit high.
-TE Clay Harbor: flyin under the radar, Harbor is out to prove that he has reliable hands and can be that target in the endzone like he was today. hopefully he can be more of a factor in upcomin games because i feel defenses overlook him, which can be a huge advantage for us
-CB DRC: had 2 huge picks that ended the Browns' drive. played very well and make me solidified my acceptance for the depature of Asante Samuel
-S Kurt Coleman: took a huge hit on but stayed in the game and came up big with a pick in the redzone and a finish pick to seal the win
-LB DeMeco Ryans: prolly the most impressive player on the defense today. prolly because he didn't show much on the preseason but boy did he showed up in a big way

...another addition to this is on the negative side, and that's again, Alex Henery. he made a 42 yard field goal but missed a 45 with a far left hook. that, accordin to Dave Spadaro, is 4 games in a row where he missed a field goal. makes me really miss K David Akers...luckily we didn't have to rely on 3 points to win the game

overall - terrific job by the defense. DC Juan Castillo did a great job puttin the players in their positions to win. the run was stopped, the passes were minimal, and we held them to no TD offensively. that is a great, positive sign for games to come. offense, however, needs a ton of work. Vick need to make SMARTER, BETTER decision but his o-line needs to give him some more time. i hope this will get straighten out next week because the Baltimore Ravens are comin to town and they're not gonna play nice

-Injury Report:
i think Maclin was shook up a couple of times but still played. he also had to get some ivy...assumin for cramps or dehydration. Coleman had some cuts on his face due to the collision but he still played as well. Boykin was prolly the only 1 in a more "serious" injury but looked like he's gon be fine
