initial reaction of the place: unnoticeable. the restaurant was between a couple of random stores and it wasn't  a brightly bbq type of buildin. parkin, however, was great. when we went inside - it was different. you can smell the bbq aroma and the smokey flavor and woodsy feel to the place. we sat down near the counter...expectin a waitress but instead, we found out by ourselves that we had to order @ the counter. their selections were great and huge...from pork ribs, to beef brisket, beef ribs, and chicken. i couldn't help but order the large pork ribs platter and she got the large brisket platter with collard greens, mac and cheese, fries and cole slaw...ps, the cornbread was AWESOME!

1st - the ribs = DELICIOUS! some tender, fall off the bone...so juicy...now the brisket, i love it. i like the lean with the fatty side...she wasn't 100% into it but she still liked it. the steak fries, regular - coleslaw, tasted bought...collard green was a bit tangy/vinegary...and mac and cheese = awesome!

overall: 4.5/5...for the BBQ - it is definitely one of the best, if not THE best...sides aren't their thing but hey, no complaints here :)
